The approved development on the Woolstores Shopping Centre site — 28 Cantonment Street.

City of Fremantle Planning Committee has unanimously approved the redevelopment of the tired Woolstores Shopping Centre.

After many years, many meetings and many design iterations, we can finally get on with this important development for the East End of Freo which will add a new hotel, retail, office space and a refreshed Coles to our city.

The hotel portion of the development will be managed by Adina Hotels and add a further 141 rooms to Fremantle.

How the site currently looks at 28 Cantonment Street.

Another exciting approval tonight was at 1 Pakenham Street. The development will occupy the basement level, ground floor laneway and rear courtyard to include a bar and dining options (with maximum patronage of 240 people).

There’s lots happening in Pakenahm Street at the moment, as the July planning meeting approved The Republic of Fremantle Gin Distillery at 3 Pakenham Street — seen here.

Plans for the new bar and dining options for 1 Pakenham Street.
